SIMON SCHABERT is a New York and Stuttgart based scenic designer for stage and film. He has worked on a multitude of film and theater productions all around the world(Staatstheater Stuttgart, ADK Baden-Württemberg, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Theater Freiburg, TheaterNatur, The Odyssey Theater Ensemble, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Columbia University, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg). His references in theater include Obie Award winning director Orlando Pabotoy, Artistic director of the TheaterNatur Festival Janek Liebetruth and Berlin's Jan Koslowski. He has worked as a production designer on numerous short films, such as Fingerspiel (2012) written and directed by the Student Academy Award winning director Mauro Müller, Couchmovie (2013) directed by Isabell Braak and Where's the Fire (2016) by Yonca Talu. His films were shown at noumerous film festivals (Max Ophüls Preis, Internationale Hofer Filmtage, Sehsüchte Festival Babelsberg, Columbia Film Festival, Aspen Shortsfest, Shorts Mexico, Mumbai Shorts, Pune International Short Film Festival, Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara, Underground Short Film Festival in Cork) and on TV (ARTE, BR, SWR). Together with writer-director Regina Mosch he co-founded the NoMilk NoSugar Collective whose short film Schwarzer Kaffee (2014) won Best Experimental at the Underground Short Film Festival in Cork.

Simon studied Fine Arts and Set Design at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart with Professor Martin Zehetgruber and is currently pursuing his MFA in Design for Stage and Film at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
